Scandal on the 25th wedding anniversary

Newlyweds feels old-fashioned, after all, it’s the 1920s. But the comedy makes me smile.

The autumn comedy on the Helsinki City Theatre’s main stage is J. B. Priestley’s Newlyweds.

What kind of chaos will it create if three couples find out that they are unmarried on their silver wedding day? The humour arises from the fact that we live in the British community of the 1920s. Scandal!

The position of the woman was different. The drop from a lady to an unmarried woman was gigantic. But on the other hand – what if you could get rid of an annoying spouse so easily?

The main couples shine with their comedic abilities. Sanna Saarijärvi and Lotta Vaattovaara, members of the kitchen staff, are not left behind.
