Review: Armi
The show of a strong woman
Marimekko was personified by the dashing Armi Ratia, a play about her that celebrates actress Riitta Havukainen . The gorgeous actress throws herself fully into the mari queen with all her roughness. Beautiful patterns and fluttering lines are slapped on stage, but above all, an insecure mother, a wife who gets drunk and an artist full of herself are shown. Armi picks up talent to her advantage, but she still doesn’t seem to trust anyone. In Armi’s life, his loved ones are also bystanders, pawns – but the cast also handles their supporting roles well! An interesting and joyful journey back in time to recent history is enjoyable theatre where the audience is quickly taken from laughter to tears.
