Review: Tohtori Zivago

On love
The joy of being surprised remains at the forefront when the premiere of the Helsinki City Theatre’s new musical Doctor Zivago ends. Tuukka Leppänen Zivagona, Anna-Maija Tuokko as her beloved Lara and Anna-Maija Jalkanen as her husband Tonja sing themselves straight to the heart. The love story rises above the turmoil of war. It becomes clear that even if faith in the system runs out and hope hangs only on a meager thread, love will hold you up.
Zivago, which premiered in theatres only in 2011, is based on the novel by Boris Pasternak . The story of people who are left behind by the revolution still speaks to us today.
