Review: Huijarin muistiinpanot
Brown-tongued
In Kari Heiskanen’s treatment, A.N. Ostrovsky’s Notes of an Impostor is transformed into a funny, nasty fireworks display at the Helsinki City Theatre. Anarchy, sketches, comics, comments on Finnish daily politics, references and quotes from countless sources, top-notch professionalism and detachment, handsome concentration and presence. The Himas report is frowned upon, Donner also glimpses on the stage, and soon we are back in a Russian state of melancholy.
Pekka Strang’s completely believable prankster flutters in all directions like a nimble chameleon, Taneli Mäkelä’s very important gentleman enjoys every moment on stage, Riitta Havukainen’s creeping cougar shakes in the middle of Lehari’s operetta – brilliant!
