TASTE OF BLOOD IN THE MOUTH

The ghost train of Linnanmäki comes in second place, as the seductive vampire count (Mikko Vihma) and his army of dead pounds in the horror castle of the Peacock Theatre. The orchestra conducted by Eeva Kolu is great, and the songs can be felt in the bones. In addition to the count, the premiere of Dance of the Vampires featured the professor’s assistant (Petrus Kähkönen) and the object of passion (Raili Raitala).

The musical, based on Roman Polanski’s cult film, premiered in Vienna in 1997, and since then, composer Jim Steinman’s metal-tinged rock hits have captivated audiences around the world. The moon rises and vampires seduce the viewer on a hilarious journey through time to the ghost stories of their youth. The blood of a voluntary victim is the best, and before you know it, the teeth are already on your neck.
