Review: Sylvia

Part of the family

Every animal lover knows that a dog is almost like a human. That’s why the Helsinki City Theatre’s play Sylvia is so titillatingly funny.

The arrival of a dog in the family evokes emotions, but the viewers of this play are emotionally aroused by the fact that a person plays a dog. Elina Aalto captures everyone’s familiar dog-like gestures precisely. I haven’t laughed so sweetly in a long time. Still, deeper levels were revealed behind the humour.
