Review: Poika ja Tähti
A boy named Pepe lives in a nice circus, with nice circus performers. Unfortunately, the circus director is not nice. Fortunately, however, there is Star, a talking horse who is Pepe’s close friend.
One day, the director asks Pepe and Tähti to perform at the circus. At first, it went well, and Pepe and Tähti were the audience’s favourites. But one day, the director demands that Star do a new, very challenging trick that Star can’t possibly do. The director gets angry and sells the Star. Everyone is very sad about it, especially Pepe. Even the director regrets selling the Star.
That is the beginning of Tähti’s adventure, where he wanders, traveling in the mouth of a whale and passing through a forest of ravens and wolves.
Finally, Tähti returns home, Pepe is happy again, and the director heals his ways.
The Boy and the Star is a great play. In it, the actors can change roles in an instant, for example, from a bunny to a horse. The show is suitable for all ages, but very young children may not always understand the change of roles. The shouting of one small spectator on stage disturbed the performance. Maybe the parents should have intervened.
