Directed with a strong grip by Riikka Oksanen, My Fantastic Friend (My Brilliant Friend) delves into the life of sexism, violence and misery in the post-war poor quarter of Naples from the 1950s to the 2010s, and follows the conflicting friendship of two headstrong girls, Lenù and Lila, and their attempts to break their predetermined roles.
