Review: Moulin Rouge! Musikaali
Pop hits, a tragic love story and the atmosphere of Paris at the end of the 1800s make for an almost perfect musical.
The Moulin Rouge plays big international hits. More than 70 songs will be heard, many of them translated into Finnish. Of the consistently good singers, especially Martti Manninen, who plays the lead role, was convincing.
In the auditorium, you have to be on your toes all the time, as even a peaceful scene can be interrupted in the blink of an eye when the stage is filled with dancing and singing. After the three-hour performance, I feel out of breath. Perhaps also because the performance gave by far the longest applause I have heard.
