13-year-old Hanni and 19-year-old Franz fall in love. The parents do not approve of the relationship and the law forbids it, but the young people do not give up on each other. The Game Trail is based on tragic real events in a small German town in 1967, and the play premiered in 1971.
The themes have not gone anywhere in fifty years: teenagers are crazy
unconditional in their feelings, parents blind to their child’s best intentions. In the auditorium, one’s own first loves and the parents’ attitude towards them come to mind without searching.
