Review: Nauravan kulkurin tarina
“As the young Vesku, Oliver Kollberg embodies him completely, right down to his fluid physicality. Santeri Kinnunen, meanwhile, possesses a commanding stage presence that lends the role particular gravitas.
The casting is spot-on throughout, and Paavo Westerberg draws superb performances from his actors. Theatre and sketch comedy, high culture and low – the two sides of Loiri, hungry for new experiences, clash deliciously in Joel Hirvonen’s Kalle Holmberg and Jari Pehkonen’s Spede. They are like the angel and the devil on Loiri’s shoulders – but which is which?
Maria Ylipää’s Kirjailija is sharp, and Ylipää’s singing is magnificent. Ella Lymi’s Mona is one of the play’s anchors. Lymi’s energetic commitment is a joy to watch. Vappu Nalbantoglu is excellent in her various roles and utterly outrageous as Tyyne.”
