Review: Kuka kaappasi auringon
“Liila Jokelin’s Who Captured the Sun? performance’s strengths are the music and the performances, which you don’t often come across in children’s theatre.” (…)
“The stage adaptation of Mauri Kunnas’s Kalevala-themed picture book Who Captured the Sun is entertaining theatre for children and the adults who come to the performance with them.” (…) “The spectrum of music stretches from folk music to hair and from jazz to electronic pop. To my own ear, everything works, everything sounds good. The melodies are catchy and the children in the audience were familiar with them even after the performance.” (…) “Sanna Saarijärvi gives a brilliant performance as Louhi, who with her Viking horns is a downright Wagnerian apparition. A large part of the character’s success is also played by Katariina Kirjavainen’s costume design, which respects Kunnas’s world in its detail, and Ronja Nylund’s intensive make-up.”
