The Umbrellas of Cherbourg is a great story and a great movie. It’s a cult movie of my generation, made in 1964. I pretended to be an intellectual, but the film still had to be seen. The main roles, as everyone surely remembers, were played by Catherine Deneuve and Nino Castelnuovo.

The young Maria Ylipää, who has just graduated from the Theatre Academy, makes the In the Umbrellas of the City Theatre Cherbourg, delicate and skilful role-playing in the first premiere of the play. Ritva Jalonen, who plays her mother, also shines On the stage of the Alexander Theatre. Both sing in an ear-pleasing beautifully and cleanly.
