In Giovanni Boccaccio’s 14th-century work, ten young people flee the Black Death—the plague—leaving Florence for the countryside. To entertain one another, they tell amusing stories, often about love and eroticism—subjects that take their minds as far away from death as possible.

The Renaissance classic Decamerone has only been staged a handful of times in Finland. Now, it feels particularly timely.

Helsinki City Theatre and the Theatre Academy of Uniarts Helsinki have launched a collaboration that will bring acting students to Studio Pasila every spring.
