The strange incident with the dog at night is based on Mark Haddon’s award-winning novel of the same name. Simon Stephens’ acclaimed dramatization has been seen by over 5 million people around the world and it has won awards on Broadway and the West End for both Best and Most Important Play.
The play is now being seen for the first time in Helsinki and it is Paavo Westerberg’s directorial debut at Lillan.

Her father’s forbidden detective work takes her on a journey beyond her own home street for the first time, and soon one secret after another begins to be revealed.
The touching drama is Jussi Award-winning Paavo Westerberg’s directorial debut at Lilla Teatern. It is an exhilarating story about a boy who turns out to be braver than anyone could have imagined.
Mark Haddon’s captivating novel has been a huge success around the world. The play, which was dramatised from the book, was also well received, winning a record seven Olivier Awards, including being chosen as the best play of the year.
The performance is in Swedish and it will be subtitled in Finnish via a mobile application.
