Ragnar, a retired principal, is tired of his life and especially of his wife Anneli. After a doctor’s visit, Ragnar makes sure that his loved ones have remorse. This applies to both his wife Anneli and to Ragnar’s best friend, the vicar Helge, as well as to his goddaughter Monika. But Ragnar himself gets a taste of life again…

THE LAST CIGAR is a comedy by Bengt Ahlfors, the foremost living playwright in Swedish-speaking Finland. The play has been translated into about ten languages, but has never before been performed by a Finnish-Swedish professional ensemble.

The comedy attracted many hearty laughs in the spring of 2017 and has toured along the southwest coast during the spring of 2018.
