Adventures of Harriharri — Episode III TICKETS
Harold Hejaz’s video game presentation follows Harriharri’s life in Helsinki. The game’s main character, Harriharri, has just arrived in Finland and hopes to make new friends and a warm welcome to a new culture. Harriharri is confident in himself and his abilities to act as part of the local art world. However, not everything is going as it did in Strömsö.
In the game, Harriharri is forced to get acquainted with Finnish cultural politics in confusing ways that shatter his naïve image of Finland. Despite her efforts, she faces constant setbacks in her efforts to become a member of Finnish society. At the most difficult levels of the game, Harriharri must fight against the bureaucratic machinery and structures of social exclusion.
Harriharri must not give up!
The video game presentation is narrated through interactive film and improvised rap and song. Each performance is a unique experience, as the audience can influence the course of the game. Join Harriharri on a hip-hop fantasy adventure!

Harold Hejazi, also known as Harri, is a Canadian artist and game designer living in Helsinki. In her work, she uses gamified forms of representation to explore various social themes, such as ethnicity, social classes, collective memory, and interpersonal dynamics.
The Stage of Contemporary Performance pilot project, which will be seen at Studio Pasila in 2022 and 2023, will bring different forms of contemporary performance into the Helsinki City Theatre’s repertoire. The activities of the stage of a contemporary performance are divided into a visiting stage and premieres and stage residencies aimed at preparing them.

Adventures of Harriharri — Episode III TICKETS
This video game performance chronicles the life and times of Harriharri living in Helsinki. Harriharri is a newcomer to Finland who arrives with high hopes of being warmly welcomed into the culture and making new friends. He feels confident and full of initiative to contribute to the local artistic landscape. However, it doesn’t turn out quite like in Strömsö.
Through gameplay, Harriharri undergoes an unsettling introduction to Finnish cultural politics, one that shatters his naïve image of Finland. Despite his sincere efforts, he faces continuous obstacles in pursuit of integrating into Finnish society. In order to conquer the most challenging levels of the game, Harriharri must battle bureaucracies and systemic forces of social exclusion.
No matter what, Harriharri must not give up!
The game is performed live in an interactive-cinema format and narrated through rap and song. In this multiplayer experience, the audience’s decisions influence the narrative––making each performance unique. Join Harriharri on this hip hop fantasy adventure!

Harold Hejazi, also known locally as “Harri,” is a Canadian artist and game designer currently living in Helsinki. His work employs various modes of gamified performance in order to explore issues and ideas that span a broad spectrum of social life: from race and class to social memory and interpersonal dynamics.
Stage for Contemporary Performance is a pilot project implemented in studio Pasila during 2022 and 2023. The objective of the project is to include different forms of contemporary performance in the Helsinki City Theatre’s seasonal programme. The activities of the Stage for Contemporary Performance are divided into two parts: a programme of visiting performances and premieres which are created during residency periods.
