A performance that relies heavily on the skill and expressiveness of dance, inspired by the classical ballet of the same name from past centuries.

In French, it is La Fille mal gardée; There is indeed an accent mark in the name. Like other ballet performers throughout the ages, Helsinki Dance Company takes considerable liberties in its version in terms of story, style and execution, but openly flirts with the traditional form of classical ballet. In addition, the stage is loaded with strong dancing skills.

More seriously; The performance is a portrait of a woman – an actor – who has grown up to rethink her own decency and kindness. Of the roles in the original ballet The Poorly Guarded Girl, only the star dancer remains. All male roles have been removed, and men have been turned into unicorn fantasy creatures.
