The prison theatre project that stirred up Sweden and ended with the dramatic consequences of the murder of two police officers.
Pain Point is loosely based on Elisabeth Åsbrink’s book Smärtpunkten. It depicts Riksteatern’s prison theatre project Sju tre, in which playwright Lars Norén wrote a play together with three criminals sentenced to prison. The performance tells not only about these real events, but also about a playwright who wants to create a unique theatrical work, and about prisoners who want to express their own feelings about prison administration and society. The play also reflects on the responsibility of those who participated in the play project for the consequences that were forgotten when they wanted to believe in the positive effects of the project. Pain Point is a strong drama that touches and provokes thoughts.
