Kummitusjuna

Helsinki City Theatre’s dazzlingly talented vocal ensemble Ochetti performs a new Finnish musical of raw beauty with all its heart.
Helsinki City Theatre’s dazzling vocal ensemble Ochetti performs Kummitusjuna, a musical of raw beauty composed by Anna-Mari Kähärä and Jussi Tuurna, written by Sinna Virtanen and Lauri Maijala, and directed by Maijala. Riotously grotesque and entirely sung-through, Kummitusjuna reinvents the traditions of musical theatre and brings the wild, darker side of everyday life to the stage at Studio Pasila. Its vignettes centre on a colourful cast of characters, from a zookeeper who falls in love with a tiger to a business executive struggling on the brink of burnout. Kummitusjuna travels along the Helsinki Metro, revealing the deepest desires and secrets of people great and small in all their excess and absurdity. This October, Studio Pasila hosts bold new musical theatre. Kummitusjuna is an unruly production that tears up the musical-theatre rulebook with a fearless touch.
