Liisa pelimaassa is a brand-new take on Lewis Carroll’s beloved classic.

In Jyri Numminen’s play, sisters Liisa and Leena are caught making secret purchases with their mother’s credit card and fall out with each other. Liisa’s friend Jossu wants to comfort her and persuades her to try the Wonderland video game – a game where you can be anyone and do anything!

In this extraordinary virtual world, Liisa and Jossu meet other players, including the catlike Virnu, moderator Kani_Valkonen and the hilarious duo Mara and Luru. Wonderland is also home to a colourful cast of game characters, from Hessu Hatuntekijä and Logitoukka to Boris Lyllerö. Liisa plays on, amassing in-game currency, unaware that a faulty update has made the game dangerous – Herttakuningatar now rules the virtual world! And soon Liisa is accused of breaking the rules of the game…

At the heart of the production are the captivating young Shed performers, whose energy and passion shine on stage in a truly unique way. The production was also inspired by material created by the young Shed performers.

The Shed performers are joined on stage by the theatre’s own professional actors, Kai Lähdesmäki as Kani_Valkonen and Tiina Peltonen as Herttakuningatar.
