Livet Ditt As is a performance brimming with black humour, powerful emotions and plenty of anxiety. We venture into the borderlands between the Joy of Life and the Great Pain – a place many of us have found ourselves in, not least because of the expectations and demands imposed on us by contemporary society.
In this performance, Blaue Frau returns to Nina Hemmingsson’s distinctive visual world, where the humour is both biting and deadpan. This time, they are joined by Gunnar Lundkvist, the man behind the pitch-black Klas Katt comic books.
We meet the Pig, the Poodle, the Tree and the Girl, all four of whom are hopelessly bad at so-called normal situations and relationships. They do their best to blend in around the neighbourhood, at parties and in public spaces – but some people simply always want a little too much, misread other people’s intentions and are all too eager to rub themselves against a partner for just a little too long when the party gets going.
On stage are Boel Marie Larsson from Sweden, Theatre Academy master’s student Herman Nyby, and Blaue Frau’s Sonja Ahlfors and Joanna Wingren.
Blaue Frau’s previous adaptations of Nina Hemmingsson’s work, Jag är din Flickvän nu (2008) and Mina vackra ögon (2012), were both acclaimed successes and made guest appearances at venues including Stockholms Stadsteater and Dramaten.
