Lomonosovin moottori
When worlds meetHuom! Poistunut ohjelmistosta!
It is advisable to arrive at the performance well in advance. In the foyer of the small stage, there is evidence of the Conditions, which has been obtained for a short-term loan through the cooperation of the Vyborg Gnostic Mushroom Society, the Copenhagen Institute of Scatology and the University of Miskatonic in the United States.
Helsinki Dance Company’s autumn 2022 premiere is a dance performance by choreographer Valtteri Raekallio.
Something has happened in the remote areas of Novaya Zemlya. Going through it systematically can reveal secret connections between dwindling natural resources and civilization. As the investigation deepens, the scientific and natural worlds meet and switch places. Beliefs become facts, scientific facts are revealed as beliefs.
Lomonosov’s engine causes all this. But what is Lomonosov’s engine? And why do impressions of the fate of humanity ripple over everything?
A central part of the work is an exploration and photography trip to Svalbard in the summer of 2022. It was carried out in cooperation with the University of Miskatonic in the United States and the Vyborg Gnostic Mushroom Society (VGS), which borrows part of its collection of historical material fragments describing the Conditions for the performance.
The performance is based on Antti Salminen’s book Lomonosov’s Engine (2014).
