A fresh drama spiced with biting humour, in which a big power game is fought within a small group of people.
Martin Wegner, an up-and-coming playwright who has been dubbed the voice of his generation, has been rewarded by the Fine Arts Foundation with a one-week mentoring period with the famous Benjamin Rubin. Rubin has published an acclaimed play classic, albeit already thirty years ago, and he has only agreed to this mentoring because of the money. Rubin, who appears superior, tackles the comma mistakes and then proceeds to knock Martin out of the entire play as rubbish. Martin seeks understanding from his wife Gina. It turns out that his wife has never really understood Martin’s texts either, and the young writer begins to doubt whether anyone really liked them. Devastated, he leaves the scene, leaving his wife and Rubin to make a closer acquaintance. The Master is a fresh German drama spiced with biting humour, in which there is a big power game within a small group of people.
