The Devil who has conquered the kingdom is a character created by author Tuomas Kyrö. So funny and wise, so true and necessary and at the same time, let’s admit it, an impossible stubborn. It happens during these times, between the spring ice breaks and the Christmas weeks. The hearty humour of the story is folded with the fundamental wistfulness of life, the tones of the comedy are deeply Finnish. At the center is a father who is so easily upset. His grown-up son is constantly worried about his father’s well-being and activities. Seija Holma’s dramatization is based on Tuomas Kyrö’s works The Devil, The Devil and the Brown Sauce and Daughter-in-law. The author’s columns published in Helsingin Sanomat have also been used to spice it up
