The musical tells the story of the successful conductor Daniel Daréus’ return to his childhood homeland in a small village in northern Sweden. The top musician, who has suffered from health problems, would like to live a quiet life, but soon finds himself conducting the villagers’ church choir, and in the middle of a colorful and vibrant community. Among the diverse country choir, there are not only friends, but also old wounds and, finally, true love.

The music of the musical, which emphasizes the power of music, community, hope and joy of life, is provided by Sweden’s best-known Eurovision composer Fredrik Kempe.

This vigorous story, also known as a film, contains touching destinies and liberating joy, offers the viewer warmth and balm for the soul.

Hymyilevä mies ja nainen kädestä pitäen seisovat vehnäpellolla pilvisen taivaan alla, taustalla auringonvalo.

Pariskunta syleilee lämpimästi kultaisella vehnäpellolla auringonlaskun aikaan, heidän kasvonsa ovat lähellä toisiaan ja heidän silmänsä ovat kiinni, mikä luo hellästi romanttisen hetken.

Valkoiseen paitaan pukeutunut mies kävelee itsevarmasti dramaattisen näyttämövalaistuksen ja sumun läpi, ja taustalla seisoo useita ihmisiä, jotka luovat salaperäisen ja teatraalisen tunnelman.

Pukuun pukeutunut henkilö seisoo dramaattisia varjoja sisältävän seinän edessä pitäen kapellimestarin kapulaa ja ojentaen toista kättään ulospäin, jolloin hän näyttää johtavan tai ohjaavan ilmaisevin elein.

Kiharatukkainen mies, jolla on pitkä tumma turkistakki ja turkiskaulus, seisoo lavalla sinisessä valaistuksessa ja katsoo ylöspäin suu hieman auki, kun hänen ympärillään sataa keinotekoista lunta.

Nuori nainen hymyilee ja nostaa puhelinta selfie-kuvaan turkislakki- ja takkipukuisen vanhemman naisen kanssa, kun taas kolme muuta talvivaatteisiin pukeutunutta ihmistä hymyilee taustalla näyttämövalaistuksessa.

Vakava poika pitelee tablettia, ja vaaleat letit omaava tyttö seisoo hänen vieressään. Molemmat katsovat eteenpäin sinisessä näyttämövalaistuksessa, ja taustalla istuvat aikuiset.

Ruskeaan villapaitaan pukeutunut nainen hymyilee ja pitelee valkoista mukia, jossa on lusikka. Hänen ympärillään on muita ihmisiä, joilla myös on muki kädessään, ja se vaikuttaa vilkkaalta ja iloiselta ryhmätilaisuudelta, jossa on sininen valaistus.

Henkilö seisoo hämärässä, savuisessa huoneessa, hänellä on silmälasit ja tummat vaatteet, ja hänen takanaan loistavat vinosti sinisävyiset valonsäteet valaisevat häntä. Hän puristaa kätensä yhteen ja katsoo ylöspäin.

Värikkäisiin pukuihin ja käpyhatuihin pukeutuneet esiintyjät hyppivät ja poseeraavat energisesti lavalla, jossa on valkoisia kuutioita ja hehkuvia palloja, eloisan sinisen ja keltaisen valaistuksen alla.

Punamekkoon pukeutunut nainen juoksee ahdistunut ilme kasvoillaan, ja taustalla, dramaattisessa valaistuksessa, juoksee häntä takaa valkoiseen paitaan pukeutunut epäselvä hahmo.

Punamekkoon pukeutunut nainen hymyilee kirkkaasti, kun hän kurottautuu kohti liikkeessä olevaa miestä, jolla on valkoinen paita ja tummat housut. Tausta on tumma, ja etualalla näkyy valkoinen kuutio.

Lavalla on joukko ihmisiä, joista osa pitää leipäkoreja kädessään ja joilla on talvivaatteet ja pipot. Sininen valaistus ja savuefektit luovat dramaattisen teatterikohtauksen, jossa esiintyjät laulavat tai näyttelevät yhdessä.

Ryhmä ihmisiä istuu rivissä ja potkii innokkaasti jalkojaan ulos hymyillen ja nauraen, aivan kuin esiintyisi musikaalissa tai näyttämöllä. Heillä on rennot, värikkäät vaatteet ja saappaat. Valaistus on dramaattinen ja sinisävyinen.

Lavalla on neljän hengen ryhmä, ja yksi heistä pitää kiiltävää kattilaa kädessään ja hymyilee. Muut reagoivat yllättyneinä tai huvittuneina. Kohtaus on valaistu dramaattisella sinisellä valaistuksella.

Like in Heaven made director Jakob Höglund move back to Finland

In the autumn of 2018, Jakob Höglund felt tired and strained. He spent 12 years in Stockholm, where Höglund had toured theatres as a director and choreographer. The fast pace of work and constantly changing work environments had taken their toll, and his back was also suffering from an injury.
