The local festival of the Young Stage project will feature interpretations by young groups from the Uusimaa region of the following plays: Pauliina Feodoroff’s The Colonial Nation, Marko Järvikallas‘ The Cherry Bomb, Arda Salaniemi’s (formerly The Cherry Bomb). Yildirim) About Us, the Flies and Christoffer Mellgren’s Cake to Share (in Finnish. Sinna Virtanen).

The Young Stage project offers young creators a unique opportunity to strengthen their skills and collaborate with professional theatres. The artist mentors of the theatres have followed the work of the young people and shared their expertise in the performing arts with them. The sponsor groups of the Helsinki City Theatre are the musical theatre group of Tapiola Upper Secondary School, Circus Helsinki, the Caliban group of the Tikkurila Theatre and Circus School, the Young Stage of the Icebreakers, Teatteri Pikku Kivi, Teatteri Werner and the Vimma Ensemble of the Helsinki Theatre School.

We are organising a local festival together with the National Theatre. The performances of the National Theatre are sold through their ticket sales channels. The local festival, which is held all over Finland, involves 27 groups of young people from 16 different localities.

The Young Stage Final Review, which will bring together performances of different plays from around the country, will be held on 23–24 August 2024 on the Small Stage of the National Theatre. The main organiser of the project is the Association of Workers’ Stages.
