Pöljänpojan vakuutus
Huom! Poistunut ohjelmistosta!
The story of a man who has come to Helsinki from Ostrobothnia, the son of a water maiden at a carnival and a substitute for a cannonball that goes into liquor.
Based on Pekka Huotari’s debut novel (2014), Pöljänpojan vakuutus tells the story of a man who has come to Helsinki from Northern Ostrobothnia, the son of a water maiden at a carnival and a cannonball substitute who goes to booze, who has ruined his biggest role: his role as a man and father. The play delves into growing into a man in his youth and the shipwreck of early middle age. The story of Pöljänpoika is a love story. It moves in two time planes, from the perspectives of a little boy and an adult man. They are intertwined. Although the play is about how a man feels when he loses his grip on his own life, it is done by means of tragicomedy. Through a smile, we try to look at the universe.
