Prinsessa Ruusunen – paluu tulevaisuuteen
The transformation of a classic fairy taleHuom! Poistunut ohjelmistosta!
The young people of Shed continue the tradition of performing a musical for the whole family at Studio Pasila.
This time, the familiar story of the Brothers Grimm about a princess sleeping for a hundred years gets to undergo quite a transformation, as Sleeping Beauty – Return to the Future humorously mixes the old traditional fairy tale with a cult comedy about time travel and its consequences. Because surprisingly, Sleeping Beauty finds herself in the 70s among hippies and punks, in a time when her own parents were also 16 years old.
In this new dramatization, based on the Chickenshed Theatre (UK) version, the elven godparents are performed by the wacky teachers of a magical boarding school who seem to cause more harm than good. Because the future of the whole kingdom, that is, the present, is at stake! And Good and Bad conscience try their best to keep Sleeping Beauty on the right path, while the evil Myrtti wants to get the crown for herself – or at least for her son Martti.
The musical is a story suitable for the whole family about growing pains and growing up, taking responsibility and friendship. And also a little about plumbing skills.
Cast by Shed’s youth.
Shed musical theatre gives children and young people aged 10–19 the opportunity to engage in theatre and make a Christmas musical together with the professionals of the Helsinki City Theatre. The activities are carried out in cooperation with the Shed Foundation. The patron of the Shed project is Suzanne Innes-Stubb, spouse of the President of the Republic.
