Two little girls vanish without a trace in Iceland’s Westfjords. They are the younger sisters of Hildur Runarsdottir (Elena Leeve), Rósa and Björk. The tragedy shocks the entire country, but the case remains unsolved.

More than twenty years later, Hildur, now working for the police in Isafjördur, and her partner Jakob (Paavo Kinnunen) find themselves at the centre of an extraordinary series of crimes. During the darkest days of winter, murders take place across Iceland, each involving symbols associated with Christmas. Everything points to a serial killer.

Then the supposedly cold case of Rósa and Björk resurfaces. Gradually, a connection begins to emerge between the crimes and Hildur’s own past – a connection that should not exist.

Could Hildur finally find the answers to the questions that have haunted her for decades? Who is behind the Christmas murders, and how is the mystery connected to Hildur?

Based on Satu Rämö’s popular crime novels Rósa & Björk and Jakob, Satu Rasila’s new stage adaptation Rósa & Björk is a gripping thriller and a chilling murder mystery. It is a story of loss, memory and the questions that matter most – questions that never stop haunting us.

A new adaptation of Satu Rämö’s novel Hildur premiered on the Arena Stage in spring 2026. Now, the same creative team returns to the stage with another chillingly compelling production, where a powerful visual world, a tightly woven plot and outstanding performances combine to deliver an unforgettable crime drama experience.
