The future of Christmas is threatened when Santa Claus makes a fatal mistake while distributing presents. To avoid a catastrophe, a resourceful group of children embarks on an exciting Christmas rescue trip with the help of a couple of reindeer and an elf. The adventure takes the children to three different worlds, and along the way, we meet a whole bunch of bizarre characters, some of whom are strangely familiar from classic fairy tales.

The musical Adventure on Christmas Night is a musical for the whole family, which is flooded with good music, humour, speed and just the right amount of excitement. It is based on the original script by Chickenshed Theatre (UK). The driving force behind the performance is the children and young people who participate in ShedHelsinki’s musical theatre clubs. It is implemented by the teachers of StepUp School’s Skene Musical Theatre School under the guidance of director Marco Bjurström.

The group of performers consists of a large group of diverse, brave “self-sufficiency”. The musical features approximately 130 children and young people aged 9–19 from the Helsinki Metropolitan Area, complemented by musical theatre professionals and students. Some of the performers are reeling in wheelchairs, some are on a big stage for the first time in their lives, and some have been familiar with theatre for a long time – despite and that’s why we are a whole Shed family and happy about it!
