Strömsö
OBS! Inte längre i repertoaren!
Strömsö is a festive performance about everything that is wrong in life, society and fiction. But don’t worry – on this stage, the escape from reality is turned into an art form; the unfortunate endings are corrected and a new, beautiful world is created, where everything goes as it does on Strömsö! Or is it? Can art actually change reality and what is really behind the longing for the Land that is not? The award-winning Red Nose Company is one of Finland’s most appreciated touring theatres, which is now making its first Swedish-language premiere.
The director is Marielle Eklund-Vasama, whose previous clown production Babylon was a 5-star hit.
On stage, we see the singing duo Stella Laine – Marika Westerling, who both make their clown debut in the Red Nose Company.
The music is composed, arranged and performed by Petri Tiainen. The play borrows freely from both well-known classics, and for the first time in the Red Nose Company’s 20-year, innovative theatre history, we also get to hear clowns sing opera!
All ends well – all is well!
The language of the performance is Swedish. The performance is subtitled in Finnish via the Subtitle Mobile mobile app. The caption code is V4UA. Read more about the subtitles here.
The production has been supported by The Alfred Kordelin Foundation, the Emilie and Rudolf Gesellius Foundation, the Art Society, the Three Smiths Foundation, the Swedish Cultural Foundation in Finland, the Thuring Foundation and the Friends of Work Foundation

A super positive musical theatre performance with a guaranteed happy ending!
Strömsö is a hilarious presentation of everything that is wrong – in life, society and fiction. But don’t worry! Now escapism is turned into art: the unhappy endings of stories are repaired, resulting in a brave new world where everything goes as it did in Strömsö! Or is it? Can art really change the world, and what really makes you long for the Earth that doesn’t exist (Södergran).
