Strömsö is a festive show about everything that is wrong with life, society and fiction. But don’t worry – on this stage, escapism is elevated to an art form: unhappy endings are rewritten and a brave new world is created, where everything goes swimmingly, just like on Strömsö! Or does it? Can art really change reality, and what truly lies behind our longing for Landet som icke är? The award-winning Red Nose Company is one of Finland’s most acclaimed touring theatre companies and is now presenting its first Swedish-language premiere.
The production is directed by Marielle Eklund-Vasama, whose previous clown production, Babylon, was a five-star smash hit.
On stage, the magnificent singing duo Stella Laine – Marika Westerling make their clowning debut with Red Nose Company.
The music is composed, arranged and performed by Petri Tiainen. The play borrows freely from several well-known classics, and for the first time in Red Nose Company’s 20-year history of innovative theatre, we will even hear clowns singing opera!
