Trollkarlen från Chicago
OBS! Inte längre i repertoaren!
As an advisor to Ronald Reagan and Augusto Pinochet, among others, the neoliberal economist Milton Friedman came to write about the political history of the 20th century. For many years, he was the right’s foremost teenage idol and the left’s foremost object of hatred.
In the musical The Wizard from Chicago, we follow him from his poor upbringing in New Jersey in the twenties until his death in San Francisco in 2007, just a few months before Lehman Brothers went bankrupt and the financial crisis woke the world from its deregulated faith in progress.
The Wizard from Chicago is a guest appearance from the Swedish free group East Front. After the premiere at Lilla Teatern, the performance continues to Uppsala City Theatre and Teater Tribunalen in Stockholm, among others.
Welcome to a happy and pleasant evening under the star of optimism.
