Part 1: a song cycle with Otto Donner’s music and Johan Bargum’s lyrics. Part 2: From King Erik’s songs, music by Ture Rangström, lyrics by Gustaf Fröding. Gabriel Suovanen is an internationally renowned opera singer and soloist who has performed on many of the major international opera and concert stages. At the Helsinki National Opera, he has produced acclaimed productions of Guglielmo in Mozart’s Così fan tutte and Marcello in Puccini’s La bohème. He has also made guest appearances at e.g. The Liceu Opera in Barcelona and the Opera House in Oslo. Pianist Markus Vaara is known as a lied pianist. He has performed with first-class singers and given concerts in Finland but also in the Netherlands, Germany and Sweden. Vaara has completed further studies in piano at the Oulu Conservatory. He studied lied at the Amsterdam Conservatory and has also studied organ, singing and harpsichord.
