Arrival and accessibility within the venue

• Two accessible parking spaces are located next to the electric vehicle charging point. Parking is free in both accessible and standard parking spaces with a valid disabled parking permit. The permit must be displayed clearly on the dashboard. The accessible spaces are clearly marked.
• The entrance has an automatic door (door width 895 mm, threshold ramp height 40 mm)
• Accessible service counters
• Illuminated row numbers and steps
• Handrails along the auditorium stairs

Lift

Accessible lift (lift door width 890 mm, lift interior 1410 x 1000 mm).

Accessible toilets

An accessible toilet is available in the entrance foyer on both the stalls and balcony levels, one on each floor.

For people with visual impairments

Tactile warning tiles at the top of the stairs indicate the proximity of the staircase. A continuous metal guidance strip in the floor leads from the entrance to the cloakroom and auditorium. The edges of the steps are also marked with contrasting strips.

Induction loops

The induction loop operates in the stalls and balcony seating areas. It has been tested in accordance with the IEC60118-4:2014 standard, and coverage maps are available on the Kuulokuvat.fi website:

Wheelchair spaces

• Four wheelchair spaces on either side of the balcony (2 + 2), with electrical sockets

The auditorium has a total of four wheelchair spaces. Two are located at either end of the last row (12), one on the left and one on the right. There are also two wheelchair spaces with restricted views at the sides of the auditorium, one on each side.

An accessible toilet is located on the ground floor.

There are two wheelchair spaces in the auditorium. They are located at the left-hand end of row 8 in the stalls, immediately inside the auditorium entrance.

The accessible entrance, with lift access to the theatre’s ground floor and auditorium, is located at Eerikinkatu 2.

To take the lift from street level down to the auditorium, please call 050 463 7751 / 050 4216 918. A member of our front-of-house staff will meet you outside and assist you with the lift. The phone numbers are available from one hour before the performance.

Please note that the lift only provides access to the theatre’s ground floor, where the stalls are located. Unfortunately, the mezzanine level, where the foyer is located, is not accessible.

Interval refreshments can be served on the ground floor.

Wheelchair spaces and tickets for assistants

Tickets can only be booked through the theatre’s own box office, tel. 09 39 4022. Tickets for assistants are free of charge.

Sign language interpretation

Sign language interpretation can be arranged by prior agreement with the theatre. If necessary, the theatre will help the interpreter prepare for the performance.

Audio description

Visually impaired patrons (approximately 20 people) can listen to an audio describer through headphones. Näkövammaisten kulttuuripalvelu provides audio description equipment for hire. The equipment provider will handle the practical arrangements. If necessary, the theatre will help the audio describer prepare for the performance.
