Dancers

Mikko Paloniemi studied at the Theatre Academy and has worked primarily as a dancer in Helsinki since 2005. Paloniemi has performed in works by numerous Finnish choreographers, including Tommi Kitti, Sari Palmgren, Carl Knif, Jarkko Mandelin and Eeva Muilu. From 2009-2014, Paloniemi was a member of Karttunen Kollektiv, performing in numerous works by Jyrki Karttunen. Among the most notable was a revival of Karttunen’s classic solo work Keiju.

Paloniemi first worked with Helsinki Dance Company in 2007-2008. He returned to the company in 2014, when Karttunen took over as its artistic director. With Helsinki Dance Company, Paloniemi has performed in nearly twenty dance works and several musicals. His latest production was Valtteri Raekallio’s Lomonosovin moottori (2022).
