Bringing Art into Homes in Malmi

Joukko ihmisiä istuu tiiviisti yhdessä viihtyisässä, kirkkaasti sisustetussa olohuoneessa ja seuraa tarkkaavaisesti muusikoiden esityksiä kirjahyllyn ja eloisan punaisen ja oranssin seinävaatteen äärellä.

Helsinki City Theatre’s audience engagement team will organise Taidetta koteihin events as part of the Pääroolissa Malmi project during the 2025–2027 seasons. Taidetta koteihin is a concept that transforms ordinary homes and residential settings into stages and venues for arts events.

TAIDETTA KOTEIHIN – PERFORMANCES IN LIVING ROOMS

Helsinki City Theatre’s audience engagement team will organise Taidetta koteihin events as part of the Pääroolissa Malmi project during the 2025–2027 seasons.

Taidetta koteihin is a concept that transforms ordinary homes and residential settings into stages and venues for arts events. Each event is designed around the wishes and ideas of the resident whose home serves as the venue. The artists involved in the Pääroolissa Malmi project help plan and deliver the events. The finished events bring strangers together, as they are open to everyone.

Taidetta koteihin events bring art and culture directly into people’s homes, making them part of everyday life. The aim is to bring people together and strengthen the local community through art, shared activities and experiences.

Taidetta koteihin events are created and delivered by Pääroolissa Malmi project artists Laura Ikonen, Jenny Jumppanen, Janne Puustinen and Aleksi Kinnunen. Depending on the content of each event, other arts professionals have also been invited to take part.

Art at Home is a concept where ordinary homes and home environments become stages and venues for art events. In the final events, strangers meet each other, as the events are open to everyone.
