The Helsinki City Theatre uses the EcoCompass environmental management system. EcoCompass is an environmental management system based on practical and concrete measures. EcoCompass is based on ten criteria, which we are jointly committed to complying with.
Our theatre wants to reduce the burden on the environment through its own operations. Ecological values and operating methods are also a major criterion when choosing partners. We invest in ecological thinking in all our production processes.
As a result of the EcoCompass project, an environmental policy has been drawn up for the theatre, and the trained environmental managers of different departments have set concrete development targets, measures and goals to reduce environmental impacts, the implementation of which is monitored and reported on annually. The targets are re-set at least every three years.
Our most important development targets related to the promotion of environmental issues have been defined:
- Energy efficiency and renewable energy in energy procurement
- Taking environmental issues into account and responsibility in procurement
- Raw material use and material efficiency
- Increasing the environmental awareness of customers, partners and employees
We all have the opportunity to make a difference and do things for the environment! For example, recycling waste, reducing water and electricity consumption and the amount of printing paper are things that are easy for everyone to pay attention to.
