Blaue Frau returns to Lilla Teatern i höst / Blaue Frau palaa Lilla Teaternii höstllä
The collaboration between the theatre group Blaue Fraus and cartoonist Nina Hemmingson continues when the performance Life Your Ass has its world premiere on October 2 at Lilla Teatern. It is Blaue Frau’s third performance based on Hemmingson’s darkly humorous comic book – this time with an extra pinch of anxiety by the master of Swedish comic dystopia, Gunnar Lundkvist.
Blaue Frau’s Nina Hemmingson dramatizations have already become a tradition by the feminist and norm-critical theatre group consisting of Sonja Ahlfors and Joanna Wingren. The two previous plays, Jag är din flickvän nu (2008) and Mina vacker ögon (2012), were successful in both Finland and Sweden, and with Livet ditt as they return to the peculiarly ambivalent borderland of life anxiety and joie de vivre.
In addition to Hemmingson, this time they have also allowed themselves to be inspired by the master of the Swedish underground series, Gunnar Lundkvist, who, among other things, created the morbid cat character Klas Katt.
The dramatization is made by Ahlfors, Wingren and Anders Larsson , who are also directing the play this time. The existentially charged main characters The Girl, the Poodle, the Pig and the Tree are played by Ahlfors, Wingren, Swedish Boel Marie Larsson and Herman Nyby from the Theatre Academy.

Blaue Frau returns to Lilla Teatern in the autumn
The theatre group Blaue Frau’s third play, Livet ditt as, based on Nina Hemmingson’s darkly humorous comics, will have its world premiere on 2 October on the stage of the Helsinki City Theatre’s Lilla Teatern.
The Hemmingson dramatizations of the feminist group Blaue Frau, founded by Sonja Ahlfors and Joanna Wingren in 2005, have become a tradition. Jag är din flickvän nu (2008) and Mina vacker ögon (2012) were successes in both Finland and Sweden, and Livet ditt as continues to struggle in the same terrain between the pain and joy of life.
In addition to Hemmingson, this time the working group has also been influenced by the master of Swedish underground comics Gunnar Lundkvist, who, among other things, has created the most shocking cat character in the world of comics, named Klas Katt.
The dramatisation is by Ahlfors, Wingren and director Anders Larsson . In addition to Wingren and Ahlfors, the stage will feature Swedish Boel Maria Larsson and Herman Nyby from the Theatre Academy.
