Kolme tölkkiä, joissa on kirkkaita pop art -muotokuvia ihmisistä, ja jokainen tölkki on merkitty eri tavalla: Taustalla on elinvoimainen oranssi ja vaaleanpunainen värisävy.

On 14 September, the premiere of the brand new revue Det ordnar sig, Sapiens! will take place. Marina Meinander and Kirsi Porkka have together written and directed a fast-paced cavalcade that takes the pulse of 100-year-old Finland on its pulse, but also directs a sharp look into the future.

“Lillan’s long-standing revue tradition combined with the fact that we live in extraordinary times is an excellent breeding ground for writing a revue,” says the working couple.

“The revue as a form is a scenic bag of sweets and a cornucopia. The content, on the other hand, is firmly rooted in today’s world and is based on values and phenomena that characterise our time,” says Marina Meinander.

“The humor is very black at times, but satire that doesn’t bite is not satire…” says Kirsi Porkka.

The duo is supported by the working group: “Satire is perhaps the best way to comment on the present today,” says Christoffer Strandberg, Swedish-speaking Finland’s foremost impersonator and member of Lillan’s versatile ensemble.

On stage, we get to see both familiar and new faces; In addition to Strandberg, we see Linda Zilliacus, Pia Runnakko, Joachim Wigelius, Sanna Majuri and Ole Øwre. The music is written by Sofia Finnilä and the lyrics by Henrik Huldén.  Subtitled in Finnish and played until 30.12.2017.

Lillan’s new revue offers a sharp look into the future

Lilla Teatern’s autumn begins with the topical revue Det ordnar sig, Sapiens!. Written and directed by Marina Meinander and Kirsi Porkka, the novelty is a lush satire of the present and a heartfelt look into the future. Where is the 100-year-old Finland now, and where will our road take us?

“Lillan’s long tradition of revues, combined with the fact that we are living in exceptional times, is an excellent starting point for writing a revue,” the pair says.

“As a form, the revue is a theatrical bag of candy and a cornucopia. Content, on the other hand, is strongly tied to this world and stems from the values and phenomena that characterize our modern times,” says Meinander.

“Humor is sometimes really black, but satire that doesn’t bite is not satire…” Porkka points out.

“Satire is perhaps the best way to comment on the present day,” agrees the brightest Finnish-Swedish impersonator star of the moment, Christoffer Strandberg, who is also part of Lillan’s versatile ensemble.

In addition to Strandberg, the stage will feature both familiar and new faces: Linda Zilliacus, Pia Runnakko, Joachim Wigelius, Sanna Majuri and Ole Øwre. The compositions are by Sofia Finnilä, and the lyrics are by Henrik Huldén Det ordnar sig, Sapiens! will premiere on 14 September 2017. The performance will be subtitled in Finnish.
