Jemina’s many lives

In the middle of the dark polar night, we got into the soft and uplifting embrace of the pink world. This was a theatrical performance that I wouldn’t want to go home from, but would  like to stay in Jemina’s salon waiting for another wonderful outfit and a touching life story.

Costumes and stories

Jemina (Jyrki Karttunen) changes her outfit and role on stage on the fly. At the beginning of the performance, the audience is greeted by a stylish flight attendant, who guides the audience to their seats and praises the audience’s beautiful outfits and happy expressions. Johan is already cheering up a person crushed by the polar night.

 The stage is a pink catwalk on which Jemina walks with her hips swinging like a top model. Dancing with the stars is also seen to the delight of the audience, when the guitarist (Tuomas Fränti) appears on stage in a tailcoat. All of Jemina’s outfits are lovely and the makeup is an amazing work of art. Stories probably sweep everyone’s life closely, lighter or harder. Sometimes you cry, laugh or are in between, but all the time there is something going on on stage and in your soul.

Feelings and thoughts

Jemina’s Many Lives and Roles  The atmosphere in the performance is fun and light, but under the surface you can feel the vibration of the soul. Some roles can be painful, such as a young girl going to a school gym class. My breasts are sore and tender and I’m shy to undress. Some roles are boring, such as the class teacher trying to concentrate and keep the class in their grip for a little while before the holiday starts. At the end, the teacher welcomes everyone back from vacation with charged batteries. Transsexuality is also strongly  present throughout the performance, and it seems to be mixed with joy and wistfulness.

Candy in handbags

There is a small five-minute break in the performance. Jemina urges the audience to enjoy the candy in handbags scattered around the stands during the break. Adult people experience the joy of discovery and oral satisfaction when they stuff candies into their mouths when they are free. We are Jemina’s guests in her home, her salon.

This performance is a boost to the autumn. I recommend it for a girls’ night.
