Review: Tarzan

King!

Beforehand, I doubted whether the story of the King of the Apes would work as a musical. But when the last bars of the last song faded, I wiped away my tears: what a touching, beautiful entertainment that drew on important themes – family, friendship, nature – had been created. Phil Collins’ music is mesmerizing and the actors are in top form. My own favourite is Sanna Majuri’s interpretation of the monkey mother Kala. What body language!
