A scientist and a tramp meet

The Einstein Crime is a great discovery for the small stage of the Helsinki City Theatre. The text by the Frenchman Eric-Emmanuel Schmitt entertains and gives food for thought.

Built on three actors, this intense performance tells the story of the friendship between Albert Einstein , who has fled to the United States, and a man from the shores.

What are the Nobel laureates in physics known to the whole world and the penniless tramp who lost his son talking about? About war and sailing, patriotism and marriage, among other things. And is a scientist responsible if his work enables genocide?

Despite the heavy themes, the play progresses lightly and occasionally offers glimpses of humour. Santeri Kinnunen draws
