The women’s task force says that vaginal monologues are a common cause

Actress Kristiina Elstelä whizzes along the stage of Teatteristudio Pasila and howls at the audience. Now all together: Pussy! Helsinki City Theatre could hardly have found a better way to renew it as a children’s theatre earlier than Vagina Monologues
and instils it in the attention of the general public. Many kinds of controversy can be expected, as things are said as they are in the play. It’s about the vagina, and it’s not something
metaphor.
American Researcher Eve Ensler has collected the experiences of women of different ages and cultural backgrounds about vaginas. There are women whose goods have been made public in one way or another, as well as women who have not touched their own
even myself. Sina Kujansuu’s direction successfully applies the method and makes use of all the playfulness contained in the texts. Rough humor
flowing wildly. Many would certainly like the City Theatre’s performance to have a more combative approach. Now the perspective is more general humane. The Auditorium is divided into three sides of the stage, but the audience is not divided. It’s a common cause. Jyrki Seppä, who is responsible for the set design and costumes, has made the studio resemble a research station as much as a nightclub. Kristiina

Women are At the same time, the research project’s powerful strike team, a trio of cats purring uninhibited on the catwalk, and the Queen of the Night interpreting deep emotions
tertsetti. They are also the six women in the monologues in turn; Six ways to relate to your own body, femininity and yourself. Kristiina Elstelä, the divine whirlwind of the stages, combines themes and styles freely, and is always convincing. The evening begins with the story of an old lady who is sipping on a sip of encouragement about how her first boyfriend’s lack of understanding made her
consider themselves dirty. At the end of the evening, Elstelä plays a woman who has to help her daughter-in-law give birth.
Hannele Lauri-Rinne delicately describes a situation where a woman learns to see the beauty of her vulva through a man’s gaze. The private experience is also emphasized in the scene of a lesbian stripper played by Lauri-Rinne, where social issues
make room for the praise of pleasure. Young Susa Saukko is in tough company. The lack of stage experience is reflected in the slightly pushy way in which Saukko handles
text. On the other hand, he has also been given the most difficult monologues.
Bosnian War The story of an experienced Muslim woman remains separate and is disproportionately heavy in this whole. In his second story, Saukko
is a girl who has been approached by her father’s friends. Vagina Monologues will be published next month as a book published by Otava. It contains a wider range of texts.
