Under the guidance of Lauri Maijala , the entire working group seems to have been freed from dusty attitudes and externally defined templates towards a truer and more authentic expression. The actors settle into their roles pure and precise, as if testing and questioning their own morality and violent forces all the time.
Ella Mettänen swings between a little girl in need of Hanna’s arms and an adult who has seen it all, Ursula Salo’s discouraged mother, Risto Kaskilahti’s raging father, Paavo Kinnunen’s tough Franz hiding his loser appearance, and even the suspicious friend played by Pekka Huotari are controlled from head to toe, but at the same time unpredictable and surprising.”
