Review: De obehöriga

The Swedish screenwriter’s comedy about the xenophobia of a housing company also resonates in Finland

In his play De Oramis, John Ajvide Lindqvist depicted the fears of well-to-do Stockholmers. In Lillan’s interpretation, the meeting of a housing company in Töölö takes on surreal proportions.

Instructor David Sandqvist has a vision of Lilla Teatern’s strengths, and they are Pia Runnakko and Joachim Wigelius. Runnakko lets go as Liisa, a racist hater who believes in her own cause and at the same time incites racism with her speeches. Wigelius, on the other hand, makes us laugh and horrify as Lasse, the chairman who believes in order but ultimately sows chaos.

In addition to them, it is also a pleasure to see Sampo Sarkola for the first time in a long time, who plays the neurotic Bosse with microscopic sensitivity without succumbing to self-emphasis.
