“Director Jakob Höglund once again steers a personal cross-border work of performing arts into port. The working group includes several loyal partners from Höglund, among them puppet maker Heini Maaranen, who this time is the set design and props. Of course, there are a few dolls in a corner even now, but above all, the objects themselves come to life on stage: apples, small boats, hats, boots. The objects also help to make the storytelling incredibly diverse. The scale of the scenic events is elegantly reversed by suddenly zooming in on a few miniature figures or an entire village landscape.”

Expectations are high, Klingenberg is experienced and skilled on the musical scene and also masters the slightly more intimate song format – but here she shows a much greater depth than I have previously experienced.
