Ett informellt samtal…
Huom! Poistunut ohjelmistosta!
Five adults sit around a table. They have a meeting. But they seem to have a very hard time sticking to the topic.
An Informal Conversation About the Current Situation is a Swedish comedy based on conversations with children by Tomas Alfredson and John Ajvide Lindqvist, and describes what happens when the gap between a rich emotional life and an undeveloped language becomes too great. Tomas Alfredsson, one of Sweden’s greatest film directors with films such as Let the Right One In and Tinker, tailor, soldier, spy, and John Ajvide Lindqvist, author among others. for the book Let the Right One In, examines in his play what happens when you write down what children say and let adults act it out. The play came about when Alfredson first interviewed children aged 5-7 about what they think happens at adults’ work meetings, after which Lindqvist wrote the script based on the hundreds of answers. The scene is a meeting room in an office somewhere where five people come, one by one. An important task must be done, decisions must be made. Relationships and hierarchies must be investigated, coffee breaks must be held. The play also addresses the theme of how we humans seek our place in the group. How we seek validation from others. How we act to get suggestions and ideas through. And not least how we relate to the “leadership”, those who have the real power. The play had its world premiere in the autumn of 2012 at the Royal Dramatic Theatre in Sweden and attracted a whole new audience to the theatre.
