Fanny ja Alexander
Huom! Poistunut ohjelmistosta!
Fanny and Alexander is Ingmar Bergman’s semi-autobiographical family saga from Sweden in the early 1900s.
Alexander and his younger sister Fanny live a happy childhood among their colourful and bohemian theatre family, until their father dies and their mother remarries a priest. The children’s mother, Emilie, thinks she will have a new happy family, but the new man turns out to be a fearsome tyrant who targets Alexander in particular for his cruel use of power. Alexander’s vivid imagination helps him survive and see things that others can’t.
Fanny and Alexander brings to the stage a mythical and imaginative world in which colourful characters and family drama, as well as carnivalesque stage fantasy and the reality surrounding our childhood, unfold and intersect as fascinatingly as
kaleidoscope in the eyes of a child.
On the big stage of the City Theatre, there will be an empowering story that instils faith in survival and the power of life. This magnificent stage spectacle is crowned by a true Finnish theatre dream team, as director Paavo Westerberg has a team full of star actors at his disposal.
The performance rights of Fanny and Alexander’s original work are supervised by Josef Weinberger Limited, London, on behalf of the Ingmar Bergman Foundation.
The performance rights to Paavo Westerberg’s dramatisation are supervised by Agency North Oy.
