Internationally acclaimed and award-winning director Ene-Liis Semper gets to direct Uniarts Helsinki’s young, future stars in her work Untitled. The bodily, energetic and touching wordless work based on physical movement language is based on photographs, paintings and frozen poses.
In the beginning, there is a group of young people on the beach. Summer. The world ahead, but what is it like?
The movement begins. People arrive only to leave. We do business, work, feel great joy and immense pain. And there is a constant movement going on all the time, like an endless series of poses – the face of the whole world seems to slide in front of the viewer. Increasingly recognizable, harrowing images. Bright, touching moments.
Is there perhaps something greater than words conveyed through them?
The book Anonymous tells about things that are difficult to describe with words. Things that every viewer can interpret as they wish.
The performance is the third co-production of the Acting Degree Programme of the Theatre Academy of the University of the Arts Helsinki and the Helsinki City Theatre.
